ROUND THREE: HELP ME!
Come on in, guys! Coach voted out at the last Tribal Council.
I will take back immunity. Let me get this garbage off of it... since it's back up for grabs!
Onto today's challenge. You've all done something like this before. Your job is to make an SOS signal that should be recognized by a passing helicopter. Sounds simple, overdone, and boring, right?
Wrong. If you know Amanda, you know that Amanda loves little twists. The goal here is to build the BEST SOS possible using the FEWEST items.
Both tribes will use this beach for your SOS:
I know it's rocky and hard, but this is the mountains. It's going to be difficult. You may NOT change the image size.
Three of us will grade your submissions. The grading rubric will be as follows, with each category being worth 10 points:
Smart - Are you effectively using your resources, or are you wasting time using things that would not work?
Original - Are you trying to do something different, or are you only using fire?
Noticeable - A good SOS signal can be seen. Would your SOS be seen if a boat or helicopter happened to pass by?
Effort - Did your submission take time, or does it look like it took five minutes?
Teamwork - Did one person do everything, or did at least six people contribute an idea or actual work?
Your score will be as follows:
First judge's score + Second judge's score + Third judge's score - (number of items used x2)
So if you get a total of 135 collective points from the judges and use 15 items, your final score will be 105. The original image does not count as an item, nor do any of the rocks. Everything else does. I would highly advise against using your tribemates in this, since each person would count as an "item" in regards to judging.
You ARE allowed to move the rocks, but they must still be visible in the final image. You may NOT move the brown cliff and you may NOT change the shoreline or make any further alterations beyond rock-moving. Doing so will result in forfeiture of the challenge.
As detailed above, at least SIX tribe members must contribute in some way. "Contributing" means posting a part of the final product or suggesting an idea for it. I won't count "It looks amazinggggg!" as contributing, since that's nothing material.
You have 24 hours to build an SOS, but if us hosts determine that an extension is required, then we will grant you another 24 hours. This challenge will not last any longer than 48 hours in total.
The tribe with the best score as determined by the judges takes immunity home. The losers go to vote someone out at Tribal.
If you have questions, you know who to ask! Survivors ready? GO!
