Well, anyway, that last vote was hilarious. Basically, Chase came to me and started telling me about how Burton told him that Kelly asked him how to vote. The two said that Burton should probably lie, and Burton decided to tell Kelly people are voting for ME. Basically...neccesitating Kelly who obviously should have felt in a bad position that her best move would be to vote me "as well". No one was voting me of course, Burton just said this.
Chase and I started really thinking how we could flip this vote on Burton. But I mentioned how it was so nice how The rest of the girls were the ones who actually got the vote toward Kelly rolling (not that this wasn't what we were going to do anyway). The girls doing this made me feel that it was probably in the best interest to allow them to linger in that feeling they probably have that they were the catalyst here. It's always best to keep others think they are in power. If people don't know they are being controlled, they are easier to control. Chase and I, I do believe, genuinely have a stranglehold over this tribe...but that could easily change, so I will not get too content.
Anyway, that wasn't the first time, telling Kelly to vote me, that Burton has rubbed me and Chase the wrong way. He's straight up annoying for starters. Beyond that though, he also came to me and asked who I thought was in power. I just said Andrea, and made up and excuse that I think she is just playing dumb. I knew if it got back to Andrea, I would be able to spin it in some way that we were talking more about who was "playing great games at this point" or some BS, and that spin would probably make her feel so good about herself that she would erase the negative connotations of me saying she is controlling the tribe. She'd also probably feel validated that she is leading the tribe, which is a pro too.
But, alas, nothing about me saying that to my knowledge was cycled around, besides me telling Chase that is what I answered. What was interesting though was Burton saying that his guess was Chase. This I told Chase, and that really got Chase wanting to maybe flip this. I'm glad that happened like that. Chase at a point told me when he wanted to keep Kelly, why he wanted to keep Burton. I felt like those two bonded...so it's good I was able to show Chase that him extending an olive branch to Burton only meant Burton would use any information or attempts to influence him as Chase being a "leader".
I also brought up idols. Now, in survivor, you just NEVER FRIGGIN KNOW. Chase thought it'd be a good idea to maybe place 2 votes on Burton. Even though were weren't gonna completely flip it, we felt it was just better to be absolutely positive that even if some idol is magically in play, Burton will still get the axe. As such, he and I voted Burton. I made my vote decorated with Burton's infamous whacky emoticons. Burton on the other hand, left the ominous and epic "you have been warned" statement. All in all, epic tribal council. I'm absolutely enjoying this game, and am really feeling like I've got myself into a great position, with Chase, who seems like a real cool guy.
Now, I don't know what Chase will do when the heat turns up, but I will straight up be a loyal ass ally to him, so I sincerely hope overtime he will give me the same. But you just NEVER FRIGGIN KNOW IN SURVIVOR like I said. But...I think I'm happier with our connection than other possible ones I could consider for this game. He definitely thinks a lot like me, but also will probably present himself as more threatening, which equates to a very perfect ally.
